Diane Pyriel [complete]

Born straddling the line, being torn between the pull of each half of her, Diane was doomed from the beginning. As much as the nephilim took after her angelic father, the demonic mother’s side always pulled her more. She tried and tried to keep following the light, to do good in the world and overcome the darkness in her heritage, but, try as she might, she couldn't overcome the evil she was born into. Her actions, despite their good intentions, grew darker and darker, until she realized that she no longer belonged with the rest of society, and so sought out people who she would not feel so guilty harming. The inner evil slowly warped her vision, until she was no longer able to see reality for how it was, instead seeing a plagued world in need of purification. Joining Draco Maledicte was the perfect way to fix the world, in her mind, since a group is always stronger than an individual.
The world she sees is beyond saving, but that doesn't mean she enjoys crime. She doesn't believe that people can change who they are meant to be, and more often than not she believes that their destiny is to die at her hands, but she mourns the death of each life she takes. Eventually, this list would include her guildmates, as they are part of the world in need of purification, despite how attached to them she gets. To her, she has no choice in the matter; it is merely the path set before her. Even her own death, which could come at the hands of either the mortal or the divine, is just part of the plan. She isn't quite sure if she will be sent to hell, purgatory, or fade into nothingness when she dies, but she's certain that heaven was never on the table.
