- Ryoshi Morgenstern has six defining characteristics: Calculating, caring, careful, driven, dynamic, and damaged.CalculatedRyoshi is intelligent, ambitious, and devious. Everything he does is carefully planned and thought out. He never does something without thinking it through. Few are the times when he will do something without an ulterior motive, and even fewer are the times when he will do something spontaneously. In fact, the latter occurrences are almost non-existent.CaringDespite his evil intentions, Ryoshi truly believes that he is doing the right thing. And he truly cares about people, especially his own guild members. However, what he does with this caring can sometimes be destructive or viewed as bad. For instance, if a person near him was injured, Ryoshi would be more likely to slit their throat and put them out of their misery than to help them heal.CarefulDespite believing that he is doing what is just, Ryoshi knows that others think he is evil, and he will go to great lengths to avoid being captured. He is incredibly cautious, making no move at all unless he is one hundred percent certain it is safe to do so. He takes innumerable measures to ensure that he is not caught.DrivenRyoshi is very motivated to carry out his plans. He will go to great lengths to ensure that his vision is fulfilled. He is willing to do whatever it takes to see his dream carried out, so long as it does not make him vulnerable. Often, he will begin talking about his dreams with such passion and fervency that his eyes will glint with a feverish, manic intensity.DynamicRyoshi is charismatic, to say the least. He has a way of carrying himself and talking that others often feel attracted to him and his cause. He knows this full well, and he often uses this charisma to get what he wants. However, there are lines he will not cross, no matter what.DamagedGoing all the way back to his childhood, Ryoshi has a few mental issues. Starting with with his being raised by manic god, he inherited a few psychoses. For one, he believes that killing an injured person is the best thing he can do for them, because attempting to save them could leave them weaker, more damaged. In the same way, he believes that because the world is corrupt, the best way to save it is by destroying it.
- Whiskey. Everyone has a poison, and whiskey is Ryoshi's favorite. It tastes great, and it goes down great.
- The cold. He may run hotter than anyone else, but that's really why he likes the cold. It makes him feel calmer, more collected.
- The dark. His best work is done under the cover of night.
Dislikes:
- Wine. The taste of fermented grape juice has always disgusted him with its bittersweet flavor.
- Extreme heat. Because he already has a higher body temperature than most people, summer-like heat makes him feel feverish.
- Bright light. Like a wild animal, bright light makes him feel exposed and vulnerable.
Fears:
- Being caught. To be captured means the end of his ambitions, and most likely his freedom or even his life.
- Loud, sudden noises, like thunderclaps from right over his head. They make him feel like he's been exposed.
- Commitment. As funny as it sounds, being tied down in a relationship is one of Ryoshi's worst fears. He feels that if he becomes committed to someone, it will come between him and his ambitions.
Motivations:
- Cleansing the world of corruption. Inherited from his adopted father, the Flame God, this is Ryoshi's greatest ambition. Because fire purifies and cleanses what is corrupt, so he must purify the world.
- Finding his father. When he was of a young age, his adopted father vanished without a trace. Finding him once again is Ryoshi's true ambition underlying all others.
- Finding his real parents. Even though he knows they might be dead, Ryoshi believes that his real parents are out in the world somewhere, and he wants to find them badly.
