Requirement: Only groups with power equal to at least two X-rank mages may take on this job
Description:
In truth nobody knows how it came to be nor where they came from. Is there a purpose to it? Loyalty? Rivalry? Hatred? Love? Valor? Bloodlust? Who can truly say? For all we know there might be no purpose to their battle yet they still do. They are what remains of something we might never be able to understand nor ever come to know of, they are but remnants.
Let me explain what painfully little can be said of these warriors who do battle til this day, their struggle which sees no end...
For many years the seas east of Hargeon has been considered dangerous due to the many disconcerning rumours concerning Galuna Island.... but history forgot what lies beyond that island. What many don't seem to remember but appearent in the oldest tome is that the seas far to the east of Galuna Island has been wrecked with darkened skies and roaring thunder since centuries, causing just as furious winds and waves. Long before Galuna Island came to be people dared not go past the island knowing that nothing but certain death waited beyond the island rather than on it. I dared venture to these traitorous sea at the orders of my lord to navigate and map what lies beyond, many a man to accompany me as they were to record their findings and I to make sure they got tell anyone about it. So we set out to sea on a smaller Brigantine as we believed ourselves to be ready.
We passed the cursed island within the day and set our eyes on what lied beyond it. It all seemed just fine at the time, there was enough wind to last our sails and all seemed be just about as normal as it could get on a ship at sea. Of course this was not to last for long as our sails were caught in a tremendous gust of wind and suddenly pulled us into darkness. We eventually found ourselves in a very dark place with the occasional lightningbolt being the only appearent lightsource. And inbetween the the roars of thunder I could hear what sounded awfully familiar: the clash of metal. And there on a small barren island: two figured clad in armor was having a battle worthy of gods as they struck at each others mercilessly, neither of them willing to grant the other an opening. As a warrior myself I could almost taste the determination and spirit they put into each and every blow yet somehow there was no actual feeling to it, as if they merely fought for the cause of it rather than there being an actual cause.

As for the job you can guess just how serious this is considering no one's made it yet. It's a bit obscure but we've confirmed that this "storm" rages to this day. Truth be told we sent people in but most of them weren't as lucky as whoever placed the request to begin with. From the looks of it we're looking at what we like to call a "Limbo State" which is basically when two equal forces comes to face one another. These two "Knights" must have been equal in about every possible way, locking them in a battle neither of them could win. Given enough time they've set root in our plane of existence through conflict alone. Assuming they've been fighting well before the storm itself was sighted it might just be the worst case we've ever seen. By now they're all but devoid of any spirit as they're forced to do battle to even "exist" in a manner of speaking. You'd think it would be fine since they could never pose harm to anyone but fact is that their existence hints for whatever spawned these titans to lie somewhere past their battleground. Needless to say the possibility of a so far unknown civilisation to exist at sea makes you wonder what else besides those two rest out there. Whatever those two are fighting for was most likely turned to oblivion with the rest of it. So on a more personal note i'd prefer to see these men rest after what can be assumed to be at least a few centuries worth of battle.
Thankfully there is a relatively "easy" way to fix this sort of thing. As this occured due to the two of them being in complete balance or equilibrium even you simply need to tip the scales so to speak or add more weight to one side or the other. Disturb the balance and take either of them out. As for the obvious problem with this they're both ridiculously powerful, meaning only the most elite mages will be able to leave a dent in them. And as you can probably imagine it's hard enough to find even one mage fitting that description let alone two of them. Odds are the two of them will just gang up on whoever attempts the task alone and be done with it. With two at the scene you could at least manage them one on one. That might be all you need considering you need only defeat one of them to get them out of limbo state. In theory the other one should cease to be eventually as the battle itself was all that kept him here to begin with. So to summarise you need to go in as a team, split them up and keep at it on both ends til one of them falls over. Be careful though, men with power like these two are heard only of in tales of ancient wars and the last one we had was between gods and demons. Not neccesarily saying that's what we're dealing with but guesses never hurt anyone right?
Enemies:
The Dark Silver Knight (X-Rank)
- Appearance:
This one standing at an impressive 9 feet carries nothing but an enormous greatsword aside from his dark armor. The armor itself is believed made from "Dark Silver", an extremely rare mineral which is naturally resistand to all forms of magic. Ironically making it more worthwhile to engage him with physical attacks which just so happens to be his forte. While relatively slow at execution of several moves he more than makes up for it with superb technique and enough muscle put behind every blow to shatter large boulders effortlessly. As his one an only ranged attack he simply cuts midair, the pressure wave created housing great destructive power despite being about as magical as a bucket. He moves in a very eerily manner whilst in battle and has a certain oppressive black aura which will continously deal damage to whoever stays within range for too long. All in all it would seem that even the optimal approach of fighting him up close makes for a gamble in itself and a matter of simply toughening it out while making sure he hurts more than you by the end of it. Should his adversary be slain he will kneel to the one who made it so and speak in a tongue long lost while you can still make out the sincere gratitude behind every word. Then he will dissipate, leaving but his armor save the helmet behind, having conveniently shrunk down to a smaller size which just so happens to fit you, crazy right?
The Bright Lion Knight (X-rank)
- Appearance:
This one stands at about the same height as his adversary and carries a spear which houses the fierce power of lightning to go with his brightly shining armor. Despite his large size and also unlike his adversary he is extremely agile, even being able to jump high into the air for aerial assaults. He specializes in mid-ranged combat using both his long spear and constantly conducts the electricity emmited by his spear through his entire golden armor, making for a cloak of lightning which covers his entire body. He is very adaptive and will grant no rest to his opponent, having a way to get them no matter the distance. Should they be close he will grab and shock them, should they be far he will either jump high in the air to dive towards you and should you be somewhere inbetween he will either thrust at you or fire lightning bolts to keep you there. To best such an opponent one must stay viligant and wait for just the right moment to strike when the opportunity finally presents itself. While seemingly more prideful than the other one he will still kneel whould the other be slain and thank you for assisting him in words you could never hope to fully understand andleaves but his spear behind for whoever slew the other as he turns to dust. Might as well pick it up if you like it.
