Community fanfiction project: to move or not to move Empty Community fanfiction project: to move or not to move

Post by Claire Anderson Mon Mar 14, 2016 5:08 pm

Ok so, as some of you may know, Claire Anderson is actually the protagonist of a fanfiction I am working on, and I am roleplaying as her mainly because I want to immedesimate in her, in order to get her speech pattern and mannerism right once I start writing.

To be more precise, the fanfiction project is a "community fanfiction project", which I had started on FTRP. Basically, the idea is that I post on the forum all my plans for the fanfiction's characters, plot, backstory and whatnot, and people give me feedback and ideas for improvement. Then I write the thing, and people act as my beta readers. Finally, I go to publish it on some big shot dedicated site, like Fanfiction.net or AO3, and I take the occasion to advertise the forum (like "a big thank you to the people of that forum I am part of, who have helped me a lot. If you like FT and roleplaying, you should really check it out, it's an awesome place"), so yeah, it is a situation from which everyone benefits in the end: I perfect my fanfiction, and the forum gets advertisement, which is something you like getting, right?

Now, given the situation on FTRP, I would be interested in bringing the project over to this site, but there is a problem: to make things easier, I had divided the project into "phases"... And the first phase, found here, is already over (we are currently working on the second phase, found here). So yeah, if I were to move the project to this site, I would end up being forced to re-discuss everything (which I'd rather avoid), or I'd force you guys to catch up with the work already done (and considering that the work in question involved a couple of serious walls of text, I wouldn't blame you guys for refusing this solution).

So yeah, I started this topic to ask: are there people, in this forum, who would be interested in helping me with such an idea, enough to justify going through the trouble of moving the thing over? And what would be the most efficient way of moving it, in your opinion?

I am glad to see some interest. As you can see by reading the topics, there are two guys, Asura and Tkamaru, whose contribution has been crucial so far: I will try and talk them into making accounts here, and if they accept, I will proceed to move the whole thing :)
